A residential Scottish and Traditional music event for 11 (entering high school) – 17 year old participants. Held at Wiston Lodge.

We look forward to welcoming participants aged 11 (entering high school) – 17 back to Wiston Lodge (South Lanarkshire) for a great week of folk and traditional music, song, fun and campfire song! The dates are Monday 6th – Saturday 11th July 2026 and all instruments and levels of ability are welcome.

Participants are treated to a fully residential experience in a spectular Victorian hunting lodge in rural Scotland. There are well experienced house staff on hand at all times as well as song and instrumental tutoring from some of Scotland’s finest musicians.

All instruments are welcome. If you don’t play one of the main instruments above you can join in the ensemble classes which are great fun.

Tickets for the week are £500 (all accommodation and meals), extra family members are: £400 and we offer concessionary places at £225. Remember that paying in installments is an option! If would like to give a Tinto Summer School place as a present and would like to make a down payment, select “Pay at the Door” when you checkout, and we’ll email you about next steps and a payment schedule.

Each place at Tinto Summer School actually costs £700 and Hands Up for Trad subsidise the amount from our own funds. If you would like to sponsor a place or make a donation for a young person you can do so using the “donation” option.
