Youth Engagement Project – Scots Fiddle Festival 2023

Scots Fiddle Festival are looking for talented young fiddlers aged 12-18* years to be part of the Young Engagement Project (YEP) and perform at the festival, opening the concert on Saturday 18th November 2023.

This year’s YEP tutor is Graham Rorie, a finalist in the 2021 BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year and graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

All workshops and performances will take place in Edinburgh. Participants may come from any part of Scotland as long as they can attend all workshop and performance dates.

YEP Workshop dates (all full days):
Sat 23rd & Sun 24th Sept
Sat 14th & Sun 15th Oct

YEP Performance date:
Sat 18th Nov – rehearsals during the day and concert at 7.30pm

For more information, or if you would like to audition, please send a home video of yourself performing two short contrasting tunes of no longer than two minutes to yep@scotsfiddlefestival.com by Friday 1st September 2023. Successful applicants will be notified around 8th September.

*Participants must be 12 years old by 1st October 2023
