Band Name:Evie Waddell Band

Band information:

We are interested in Gaelic and Scots songs old and new that are performed and arranged in kind of rebellious ways.
We're interested in similarities between the driving rhythms of hip hop and Gaelic step dance. Likewise, the similarities with rap and puirt a beul (Gaelic mouth music) that lead to experimenting with blurring the line between speech, rap and puirt while trying to keep the essence of Gaelic form in there. There is also some pop punk influence in the works creating a sound with the band that isn't solely traditional, but isn't particularly hip hop either….just letting loose in the phrasings, timings and tempos.
