Band Name:Sgòrr

Band information:

Band members
Highland Bagpipes and Whistle Camron MacPhail From Kilmartin, Argyll
Fiddle and Gaelic song Rachel Henderson from Elgol, Isle of Skye
Piano Orin Simpson from Evanton, Highlands
Drum Kit Owen Stark from Auchtermuchty, Fife.

Owen, Orin and Rachel all met through studying at Sgoil Chiùil na Gàidhealtachd. This grew a great friendship and a great working partnership.

Owen and Rachel later met Camron during the Argyll Ceilidh Trail, where they spent a Summer touring the Argyll area and performing at various gigs. After the Ceilidh Trail, Owen, Camron, and Rachel decided to continue their musical journey together, forming Sgòrr. Given our strong friendship and collaboration with Orin, it felt natural to bring him on as the final member of the band.

Our debut performance was at the emergent talent slot at Piping Live 2024 which was a memorable experience. We received fantastic feedback from the audience, a standing ovation, and an encore. We followed this with a successful night playing at Malones Glasgow.

Sgòrr brings a lively sound to the stage, featuring many of our own compositions. Our aim is to deliver an exciting performance that leaves audiences with big smiles.
