The Ruairidh Iain Buxton Trio is a made up of three Scottish musicians, Ruairidh Iain Buxton on Flute and Pipes, Eoghan McManus on Fiddle and Gillie O'Flaherty on Guitar. The three of them are regular faces on the Glasgow session scene. They have had a long-standing musical relationship since they were in school and have all studied music in university. The Trio’s sound brings together their different musical tastes and experiences, with obvious Scottish and Irish influence. They create melodies and arrangements that are both modern whilst still maintaining a firm rooting within the tradition playing many of their own compositions. The Trio performed at the 2023 PipingLive festival as one of their emerging talent acts.
