Band Name:Duncan McFarlane Acoustic Band

Band information:

The DMcF Acoustic Band is a four-piece 'acoustic' offshoot of the six=piece, electric folk=rock 'Duncan McFarlane Band'. We play in various formats, as a Duo, Trio, four-piece and full six-piece band - tailored to 'fit' all sizes and manner of venues. Our Fiddler Anne Brivonese hails from Dundee and Duncan hails from Ayr - though we met up and began working together in Leeds back in 2001. We are joined in this four piece format by our bassist, Martin Ward and guitarist/mandolin player Steve Foster. Our sets comprise a mix of Traditional Folk and Duncan's self-penned songs (which are very much in the Traditional idiom), with a heavy bias on Chorus-led songs as we prefer our audiences to sing and join in along with us! Whilst the full (electric) band has graced many a main stage at Festivals over the past two decades (such as Shrewsbury, Sidmouth, Ely, Beverley and more), we welcome this opportunity to take our gentler, acoustic side into new territory - it's a format we'd very much like to bring to the fore.
