Tutor in Entrepreneurship and Employability

The successful applicant will be involved in the delivery of AMS Modern Apprenticeship program, as well as delivering Higher Education classes at SCQF Levels 7 – 8 and some possible involvement with our BA(hons) programme.

  • The post is for a self-employed person (independent contractor)
  • Hours per week and shift times are negotiable and will vary throughout the year
  • Rate of pay £15-£25 per hour (negotiable/DOE)

Person Specification

Essential

You should be someone with a thorough knowledge of entrepreneurship, marketing (digital and traditional), business management, digital media and freelancing.

Knowledge and experience in the use of Digital Marketing (DM) platforms along with analysis and development of DM Strategy and Management Information/Data.

You must have a proven track record in the management of commercially viable creative businesses/projects

You should have some prior experience in teaching, leading workshops and/or managing a team of people effectively; and be able to demonstrate a commitment to social inclusion and equal opportunities.

Desirable

Ideally, you should be qualified to either BA(hons) or Postgraduate level in a business or arts subject. Significant/equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a qualification.

Knowledge and understanding of the local and national music industries.

Experience in producing learning materials and assessment instruments within the Further Education, Higher Education and Skills Development sectors.

Accredited Assessor/Verifier awards (SQA, Edexcel or equivalent) would be an advantage

Duties

The role will include lesson planning, preparing materials and resources as needed, delivering group lessons/workshops/lectures, one-to-one teaching sessions, assessment and internal verification and appropriate record keeping, working cooperatively with other teaching staff and the Course Coordinator. It may also include liaising with Modern Apprentice employers in order to analyse individual training needs and build these into delivery/training.

Training

In house training on course delivery and assessment will be provided, appropriate to the particular programme / class you are delivering. Ongoing mentoring from senior members of teaching staff will also be available. Accredited trainer, assessor and internal quality assurance qualifications are available for staff where operationally required or requested.
