Tinto Summer School 2024

The inaugural Tinto Summer School, originally named The Millennium Summer School, took place in 2000 at Wiston Lodge, where it continues to be held today. Throughout the years, we have hosted thousands of young musicians who come together to learn Scottish music and song, making new friends and having a fantastic time.

We eagerly anticipate the return of participants aged 11 (entering high school) – 17 to Wiston Lodge (South Lanarkshire) for an excellent week of music, singing, enjoyment, and campfire songs in 2024! The dates are 1-6th July 2024 and all instruments and levels of ability are welcome.

BOOK HERE

We have a brilliant set of tutors waiting for you. They are:

  • Donald Barker (piano, mixed instruments)
  • Ciorstaidh Beaton (mixed instruments, clarsach)
  • Heather Cartwright (mixed instruments, guitar)
  • Josie Duncan (singing, songwriting)
  • Eryn Rae (fiddle)

All instruments are welcome. If you don’t play one of the main instruments above you can join in the ensemble classes which are great fun.

Booking will open on Saturday 24th February at 11.00am on Eventbrite.

We have had to implement changes to the payment structure which take into consideration increased costs. The true cost of each place at Tinto Summer School is £550 for a week’s accommodation, all meals and tuition. you will see on Eventbrite that we have included an option to donate towards Tinto Summer School. Your donations, however small help us keep ticket costs down and enable young people who would not otherwise get the opportunity to attend.

Costs are…

  • Full Price – First participant from a family – £400
  • Full Price – subsequent participants from a family – £375
  • Concessionary Place – £225
