It’s now two decades since we released The Piper & The Maker which recorded the special connection between craftsmanship and musicians. We would love to make The Piper and the Maker II and with your help, we hope to make this a reality!
Dad and I have been making smallpipes for over 30 years and thanks to players like Allan MacDonald and Brìghde Chaimbeul, who have been recording and performing in C, the demand for sets in this key is increasing. With their unique tone these smallpipes are sweet and bright and lend themselves to accompanying singers. We intend to feature tracks with vocals as well as many great tunes, all played on C smallpipes.
HELP THEM MAKE THIS ALBUM BY DONATING TO THEIR FUNDRAISER
We are delighted these brilliant musicians have agreed to join us for 3 days of recording:
Allan MacDonald, Angus MacKenzie, Brìghde Chaimbeul, Calum Alex MacMillan, Gary West, Margaret Stewart with Ewen Henderson, Ross Ainslie, Seonaidh MacIntyre and Steve Byrne.
We are passionate about the pipes we make, each set is handmade with great care. To support this project we are making two sets of C smallpipes available to buy, which will be handed over when the CD is launched. Both sets will feature on the album in a special quartet.
We will be grateful for any support, whether by pre-ordering the CD or treating yourself to the other perks on this site. If you’re unable to contribute, a wee share of our campaign would be very much appreciated!
Your funding will be used in the following way:

We’ll leave you with this verse from The Piper and the Maker which captures the essence of our work and why we want to celebrate these pipes and players together on one album.
“For there’s music in them right enough, but there’s music in you too,
And the one requires the other for that music to come through.
The pipes unlocked the music that was waiting in your soul,
And you unlocked the instrument and made the circle whole.”
