The Clarsach Society Young Composer Award

The Clarsach Society and EIHF are delighted to announce the winner of the Young Composer Award as Christine Edwards from Aberdeenshire. Christine’s winning composition, The Pinnacle Suite for clarsach and cello, will premiere at the closing concert of the festival on Wednesday, 9 April. Well done Christine!

We’re also pleased to welcome Christine as a festival tutor this year. The latest chart hits and classic songs will be covered in her four-day course on Popular Music – so the next time you hear something you fancy on the radio, you can arrange your own harp cover! Christine will also lead our Adult Post-Beginner course, developing technique and giving guidance on how to use practice sessions effectively to aid progression. In a workshop on Teaching by Skype , Christine will share her own experience (pros and cons) of teaching using video conferencing software – an interesting discussion for both learners and tutors (part of the festival’s FREE seminar series for tutors ).
