Shetland’s Fiddle Frenzy 2017

Shetland Art’s annual celebration of the Shetland Fiddle Tradition

Seven days of workshops, concerts, sessions, tours and masterclasses offer total immersion in the distinctive Shetland fiddle style. Learn secrets from a range of experienced tutors, explore the landscape which has inspired our unique repertoire, and meet the characters who make Shetland music popular world-wide. In 2017 Fiddle Frenzy is curated by Claire White.

There are still spaces left on this year’s Frenzy – sign up now to take part in Fiddle Workshops, Masterclasses and Sessions, or intersperse your week with Creative Fringe activities, Guitar Tuition or Tours.

This year our tutors include Jenna Reid (RANT, Blazin’ Fiddles), Andrew Gifford (Fiddlers Bid), Ross Couper (Peatbog Fairies), Barry Nisbet (Wire and Wool), as well as Tom Oakes & Arthur Nicolson on Guitar. In addition to Fiddle & Guitar tuition we have a fabulous line up of concerts, featuring RANT, Ross Couper & Tom Oakes, Salt House, Danse McCarbre Ceilidh Band, Jenna Reid & Kevin MacKenzie and many, many more.

A fabulous chance to spend a week in a unique location, immersed in the local culture, led by tradition bearers amongst a group of likeminded individuals.

We’d love to have some of you with us!
