Scots Fiddle Festival Appoint New Artistic Director

Introducing Rosie Munro!
Rosie has been attending the Scots Fiddle Festival since 2009 (and performed a recital with her band ‘ Chloe’s passion’ in 2013) After being a member of the Midlothian Ceilidh Trail under Mike Vass’ tuition, Rosie was inspired to study music and gained a place on the BMus Folk and Traditional Music course at Newcastle University where Catriona Macdonald was her main fiddle tutor.

After graduating in June 2016, she moved back home to Midlothian and soon became involved in volunteering with the festival. She is now continuing her studies at Queen Margaret University on the MA Arts, Festival and Cultural Management course and currently plays with Amer//Hawksworth//Munro who have recently released their first EP.

Rosie has taken on the role of Artistic Director of the Scots Fiddle Festival after Eilidh Steel left the role in December and she is really excited to get started on programming this year’s festival.
