An award will be made to a young person who will propose a project that benefits their own creative development whilst also strengthening the planning skills and procedures required in successful arts management.
In the year it celebrates its 80th anniversary, the Saltire Society has invited Hands Up for Trad to seek proposals from individuals who have a great idea, an idea that will help them gain skills that will enable them to grow in their careers and get experience from organising a project that means something to them. The award will be made on 30th November at the Saltire Celebrates event at Òran Mòr in Glasgow.
To be considered, applicants should should fill in the form below, detailing experience up until now as well as a detailed description of the project they would undertake. How this opportunity would help their creative development and enhance their career. Projects could include the delivery of a teaching programme, booking a small scale tour. This bursary can’t be for recording a CD or instrument purchase. Hands Up for Trad will provide mentoring throughout the process ensuring the successful delivery of final outcome.
The award will be made to the selected person, consisting of £2,500 (in installments) to enable the winner to pursue their project, together with a certificate and membership of the Saltire Society. The winner will be expected to present a personal visual record (in the form of a website) of their experiences at an award ceremony in the following year. The Society would welcome interaction through Facebook, Twitter and blogging to record on-going responses.
All nominated entrants will receive one year’s membership of the Society.
Please submit all project proposals below by Friday 26 August 2016. All applicants must be free to attend Saltire Celebrates event on 30 November in Glasgow.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Open to Scottish based or born acts except employees of Saltire Society, Hands Up for Trad and their immediate families, their agents or anyone professionally associated with this promotion.
- All artists must be aged 16 or over.
- Incomplete, illegible or corrupt entries, or those not in accordance with these terms & conditions will not be accepted.
- The closing date for entries is Friday 26th August 2016.
- Bursary winners are required to take part in publicity arising from the promotion.
- The winner will be given £2500 to make their project happen. The bursary has to cover all costs. This money will be given after in instalments after we have been sent a detailed business plan.
- No correspondence will be entered into.
- The Promoter will only use the personal details supplied for the administration of the competition and for no other purpose, unless we have your consent.
