Traditional Music Forum are getting in touch to highlight the opportunity to get listed as an individual or organisation who could assist with the delivery of traditional arts in schools and community settings. Read on and if interested please fill in the form attached at the end of this message.
TRACS (Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland) has created a new free online resource called Gifting Every Child http://www.tracscotland.org/resources/gifting-every-child
Broadly targeted at 6-9 year olds, Gifting Every Child provides a core introduction to the traditional arts of Song, Storytelling and Dance, including Scots and Gaelic. It has been curated by storyteller Bea Ferguson, singer Christina Stewart and dancer Mats Melin and includes text, video and audio resources. Gifting Every Child includes material for different age ranges and situations and encourages creative use of the resources. This will also be an evolving resource as people adapt it to their own context and needs.
TRACS (of which TMF is a part of) are now working to promote the use and indeed development of this resource across all kinds of educational settings – from schools to community groups, to youth groups etc. They would like to have a list of willing and able people who could assist the use of delivery of this resource in schools and other educational settings, should schools or authorities request this.
Are you interested in being listed? If so, please complete the following and email back to Morag Wells here Morag@scottishstorytellingcentre.com.

*The vital difference between these is that PVG applies if you are ever supervising/in charge of a group of children or vulnerable adults. Organisations vary in their requirements for arts workers and tutors, but PVG is increasingly the norm for participative work as opposed to a performance session. The Regulated Work Self-Assessment Tool on Disclosure Scotland’s website is very useful and can be accessed from the following link: https://www.disclosurescotland.co.uk/disclosureinformation/pvg_training/self-assessment/index.html This helps you decide if what you are doing requires PVG.
