Piping Live! Big Band Needs You!

From Piping Live Festival in Glasgow. Join us again in 2017 as we make the Piping Live! Big Band even bigger and better!

We want to celebrate Piping Live! with a massed band of all the pipers and drummers that are here in Glasgow that will also support a fantastic charity – Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity (formerly Yorkhill).

The parade will take place on Monday 7th August. Whether you are in a band of not, come and join the Piping Live! big band, for your chance to take part in the festival. Joining the band will be top pipers and drummers from across the globe, and you could be part of it too!

Through this scheme we are supporting Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. The Glasgow International Piping Festival has been supported by the people of this great city for so many years that this year, we wanted to give back to the city, through one of its most well-loved charities.

So we are looking for pipers – chanters too – drummers and drum majors to join us. So register today to be part of something special at Piping Live! 2017.

Enter online below and join the band
You will be issued with details about the tunes we will play – but rest assured, it will be playable for all levels of piper!
£10 joining fee – You will receive an exclusive Piping Live! Big Band t-shirt and a donation from every entry will go towards Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity

Performing details

The Piping Live Big Band will parade on Monday 7th August
The Piping Live! Big Band will meet at Blythswood Square from 11am.
They will form up, ready to leave at 11.30am, and then the band will parade to George Square
At 12 noon, you will enter George Square and take a salute from our Piping Live! Big Band Chieftain – Kami the GCHC Mascot!
Full details will be provided once you register for where to muster, the tunes you will be playing and more about the day.

Stewards
Stewards will accompany the band as it makes its way along the parade route, to keep players safe and ensure the parade runs smoothly. This year we need 20 volunteers to help guide the parade.
Could you help? If you can be a volunteer steward, please email marketing@thepipingcentre.co.uk for more information.

So come along and join in, and have the chance to play alongside some of the top names in piping!
