Listen to this! Trad music made at Irish World Academy of Music and Dance

In the last week of October Simon Thoumire set out for the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance to work with students on the music BA course. Itt was going to be fun as he had worked with them before and they are all great musicians. There were about 50 in the orchestra and he arranged tunes and a song into 3 sets! Below is a playlist with the 3 sets performed on 29th October at the University Concert Hall. Congratulations to all the students who had to work very hard with long days and early starts. The setlist is:

  1. Every Man for Himself (Mhairi Mackinnon) / The Smasher (Jack Smedley / My Brown Haired Boy (traditional)
  2. Flutter (Simon Thoumire)
  3. Road Drill (Ian Carr) / Taybank Shenanigans (Ross Ainslie)
