Gifting Every Child

Gifting Every Child is a free online resource broadly targeted at 6 to 9 year olds. It provides a core introduction to the traditional arts of Song, Storytelling and Dance, including Scots and Gaelic. Gifting Every Child has been curated by storyteller Bea Ferguson, singer Christina Stewart and dancer Mats Melin. The resource includes text, video and audio and encourages the user to pick and choose which elements are best suited to their situation, with material that can be catered towards different ages to enhance engagement and enjoyment.

Gifting Every Child is a starting point for building up local interest and resources. Everyone will add more material suitable to their own context and needs. We are inviting everyone living in Scotland to tap into our rich creative culture and make it their own.

We want therefore to highlight individuals, organisations and groups who can assist in delivering the traditional arts in education of all kinds – in schools, after-school clubs, community groups, youth clubs etc. If you would like to be involved in this work please contact Morag Wells morag@scottishstorytellingcentre.com and ask for the application form.
