Four Youth Scholarships For Outside Track Summer School

Outside Track are delighted to be able to offer four 50% value scholarships (Value £225) for our Summer School to young musicians aged 16-21 from anywhere in Europe.

Participants will receive group and individual tuition in their chosen instrument, plus enjoy singing and stepdance workshops. By keeping the numbers very low – only max 6 participants per tutor, individual needs can be attended to, and lots of personal focus given.

Cape Breton Fiddle – Mairi Rankin
Clarsach – Ailie Robertson
Guitar – Mike Bryan
Accordion – Fiona Black
Flute/whistle – Teresa Horgan

Teaching will be a combination of tradition and technique tailored to suit the participant level, with time to address both technical issues such as improving dexterity, left hand coordination, etc, alongside traditional elements – ornamentation, tempos, rhythm, and of course, lots of time to learn new tunes.

There will be classes every morning from 10am until 1pm, then masterclasses, vocal sessions and stepdance workshops in the afternoon. In the evenings we will have informal sessions, a ceilidh, a student concert and a concert by The Outside Track.

Scholarships are available for four musicians aged 16-21, of any level, from anywhere in Europe.

To apply please send a recording of you playing, and a paragraph about why you would like to attend to theoutsidetrack@gmail.com by the deadline June 15th.
