BREAKING SOUND BARRIERS

Pic-08NOMAD BEAT’S PROJECT – “BREAKING SOUND BARRIERS”

Nomad Beat, the Peebles Community Music School (teaching mainly Scottish Traditional Fiddle), is through to the final of ITV’s “The People’s Millions”, a community projects competition run in partnership with ITV and The Big Lottery Fund with grants of up to £50,000.

“Breaking Sound Barriers” is Nomad Beat’s project which will offer music-making to everyone in the community but especially those with additional needs. Specially adapted musical instruments will be purchased if our bid gathers enough of YOUR votes. A short film featuring Nomad Beat’s project will be shown on ITV Borders News on 26 November.

Support for the project is by voting for “Breaking Sound Barriers” by telephone on Wednesday 26 November. A landline and mobile telephone number will be made available at 9 am on the voting day and up to 10 calls can be made from each telephone at a cost of 15p per call. You can vote at any time between 9 am and midnight on 26th November. The numbers will be published on:-
