BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award Finals – Sunday 2nd February 5pm

Next Sunday 2nd February at 5pm the finals of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award will be held in the City Halls, Glasgow as part of Celtic Connections festival. This is the 20th year of the event and as usual it will be a fantastic nights concert. If you would would like to attend you can buy tickets here and if you can’t make it the event will be broadcast live on BBC Radio Scotland.

The six musicians that made it through to the final at Celtic Connections festival on Sunday 2nd February are:

Alexander Levack: Whistles (Dingwall)

Calum McIlroy: Guitar, Mandolin (Aberdeenshire)

Cameron Nixon: Scots song (Aberdeenshire)

Josie Duncan: Gaelic song (Lewis)

Mhairi Mackinnon: Fiddle (Perthshire)

Padruig Morrison: Accordion (Uist)

Also performing will be last year’s winner Benedict Morris who will unveil his new band.

2020 is the 20th anniversary of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award and to celebrate this there will be a concert of all 19 previous winners in the main auditorium at Celtic Connections on the 23rd January. You can buy tickets for that here!
