We’re thrilled to reveal the finalists for the Battle of the Folk Bands 2026! After listening to all the brilliant entries submitted this year, our panel of musicians has selected five outstanding bands to compete at the grand final during Celtic Connections.
Meet the Finalists
These five bands impressed our judges with their musicality, originality, and fresh takes on the Scottish tradition. Each brings something unique to the table, from innovative arrangements to exciting new combinations of instruments and voices.
The competition was incredibly strong this year, with bands from across Scotland sending in demos that showcased the vibrant state of our traditional music scene. Choosing the finalists was no easy task, and we want to thank every band who took the time to enter – the creativity and passion in your submissions was truly inspiring.
