Battle of the Folk Bands 2025: Lussa

Lussa have reached the finals of Battle of The Folk Bands 2025. The competition will be held at Celtic Connections on January 18th in the Drygate Brewery at 1pm. Why not come along and join in the fun?

We asked Eneko of Lussa a few questions about the band.

Tell us about your band

Lussa is an upcoming traditional band based in Glasgow, consisting of four members: Bailey McCoo, Elisabet McConnell, Eneko Lane and Naomi Priestnall. Forming in October 2023, they have developed a unique sound with a bright, joyous and fresh style that melds traditional music with modern arrangements and their original compositions.

Who are the band members
Bailey McCoo (keyboard)
Elisabet McConnell (fiddle)
Eneko Lane (guitars/banjo)
Naomi Priestnall (fiddle)

What are you hopes and aspirations for the band?
We would love to establish ourselves as a successful band, grow as musicians and tour! We love performing together, and aspire to be able to do this full-time. We hope to travel around scotland and then the world with music, and reach new audiences with trad.

Check out the band’s website.

The Battle of The Folk Bands winners will receive a day in the GloWormRecording studio and a performance at Celtic Connections 2026.
