“The Road to Yair” is the first track on the album of the same name. It’s named after a winding back-road between Galashiels and Selkirk in the Scottish Borders, which runs through countryside where my grandfather was a shepherd many years ago. The album consists of 11 tracks of self-penned tunes played on a variety of instruments, supported by a number of fine musicians from the Scottish Borders – including a couple of tracks with my old ceilidh band. The tunes mainly refer to people and places I have known over the years. The album is available as a CD or download from my website, or as a download from iTunes etc.
I retired from teaching in 2009, and from the “Clarty Cloot Ceilidh Band”, after 20 years on the fiddle, a couple of years back. I’ve been composing music ever since.
