All the Prayer is track 4 from Gerda’s album of her own songs NIGHT TOUCHES DAY, described by Rory Macdonald of Runrig as “a new Humanist anthem, a really groundbreaking, important song”; by Folk Radio UK as “an ancient enchantment. Backed up by strings, drones and layered vocals, the song implores us to live for the moment and the real glories of nature, not the imagined glories of hereafter”, and by The Scotsman as “strikingly beautiful.”
Gerda was nominated for the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards 2014, as Scots Singer of the Year. Her album NIGHT TOUCHES DAY has been widely acclaimed. Like her poetry, drama and prose, some of Gerda’s songs are autobiographical, some are other people’s stories, some a combination of both. They cover a range of styles, from folk to swing.
