The 2015 Collection

The 2015 Collection

2015_Collection_logoWe all loved the Traditional Music and Song Association’s (TMSA) Nineties Collection that was originally released in 1990. The 210 tunes (23 airs, 16 hornpipes, 26 jigs, 19 marches, 50 pipe tunes, 48 reels, 17 strathspeys and 11 waltzes) that featured in the collection have been performed on many albums and the book is still talked about today. Read more about the original Nineties Collection.

Hands Up for Trad plan to do the same for tune composers in 2015 (was 2014) with the release of a tune book featuring tunes chosen from a competition and invites. A panel will convene to select the best tunes from those entered into the competition which will then be entered into the book. The judges decision will be final. We are looking for composers to enter their best tunes. They can be in any time signature and for any instrument.

This book is a fundraiser for Hands Up for Trad’s many activities. Whilst we cannot pay composers for your entries, we can offer you the opportunity to be part of the 2014 Collection, ensuring that your work receives high profile accreditation as part of promotions throughout the development of the project as well as in the final published copy. Please do not enter if you are not completely satisfied with these terms. For further clarity then don’t hesitate to contact us.
