I had the real pleasure of being asked to judge the Young Scottish Jazz Musician semi-finals on Saturday. I’ve listened to the final of this competition on this radio since it was started but this was the first time I’ve been to see it live. I was astounded at the quality of these musicians – the music they performed was fantastic. Myself and fellow judges Paul Towndrow (chair) and Rick Taylor had a hard time picking between them! Also a big shout out to the amazing house band Euan Burton (double bass), Alyn Cosker (drums) and Paul Harrison (piano) who never missed a note and kept the music swinging. Good luck to all the finalists.
