This unique mentoring project offers up and coming songwriters in the Glasgow area the opportunity to receive one to one songwriting master classes with some of Scotland’s most successful songwriters. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to experiment, collaborate and perform, encouraging new creative approaches to song writing and building a career in the music industry.
The free week-long intensive course is funded by Glasgow Life, facilitated by community music organisation New Rhythms for Glasgow and delivered by internationally acclaimed Scottish songwriters. The project will culminate in a showcase at the Kelvingrove Bandstand in September 2016 as part of Fox Star Music & Arts Festival.
Applications close on Wednesday the 6th of July and auditions take place Wednesday 20th July.
The application process:
This opportunity will take place in August 2016 (exact dates TBC) and is open to 15-25 year old, mid stage and up and coming songwriters only. Please apply with a covering letter detailing your songwriting experience, professional experience and any relevant creative projects you’ve been involved in, as well as attaching an MP3 (or links to youtube / soundcloud / bandcamp etc) of two original songs.
