Scottish Celtic band, Skipinnish, will celebrate its 20th Anniversary with a major concert in Inverness.
The band’s only Scottish summer show will take place on Friday 5th July 2019 in a Big Top Tent in Bught Park, Inverness, where they will be joined on stage by various guests for one of the biggest parties in the city.
Skipinnish encompasses the very best of contemporary Celtic music with a unique and sublime mix of chart-topping, self-penned songs and powerful bagpipe, fiddle and accordion-led tune sets. As a result, the band has built a loyal and strong fan base since its formation in Tiree in 1999. The last few years have seen their support rocket to bring them to the very top of the thriving Celtic Music scene – selling out the Usher Hall, Barrowland and venues across Scotland – and this following continues to grow as Skipinnish excite audiences in the rest of the UK and Europe.
Band co-founder, Angus MacPhail, said:
“This will be a very special gig for Skipinnish. Celebrating our 20th birthday with a summer concert of this size in the Highland capital is a dream come true. We can’t wait to hear 4,000 fans singing their hearts out and going wild at Bught Park in July!”
LCC Live is the promoter of this concert, which is part of its Live in the City line-up. Director, Claire Kidger, said:
“Skipinnish have made massive waves on the Scottish music scene recently and we’re delighted to be working with them on this huge party, celebrating their 20-year milestone in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.”
