Scotland Live Winners Announced

Scotland Live logoHands Up for Trad are very happy to announce our first 3 winners of the Scotland Live Awards! The winners are Dundee Acoustic Music Club, Bishopton Folk Night and Arisaig Club (names to be finalised). Each club will programme 8 nights of music (1 per month) from September 2015.

The Scotland Live Awards were launched in December 2014 and exist to encourage young people to get together, form a committee and promote a regular music club. Hands Up for Trad were looking for 3 new clubs to start in September 2015, promoting 8 gigs each over a 12 month period.

Over the next few months each club will be setting up their websites, writing business plans and promoting their upcoming acts. Simon Thoumire of Hands Up for Trad says

“We are very excited about this project. Scotland needs more places for musicians to play and more promoters to enable this. These three promotors have all showed to us they can run exciting clubs that will be fun and give something back to the music scene. ”
