Rose Emily by Duncan Chisholm & Ross Ainslie

Duncan Chisholm and Ross Ainslie wrote this tune for Ewan, Jamie and Lachlan Maclean – onboard their 30ft row boat named “Rose Emily”.

Proceeds from this song will go directly to the Maclean Foundation to fund clean water projects in Madagascar.

The Maclean Foundation is a Scottish charity founded by the Maclean brothers and their father, whisky expert Charlie Maclean, dedicated to making a lasting impact on communities through access to clean water. Combining a spirit of adventure with charitable purpose, the Foundation raises funds for clean water projects primarily in Madagascar, where only 10% of the rural population has reliable access to clean water. Their innovative approach leverages both record-breaking ocean rowing expeditions and special whisky releases—such as limited-edition bottlings from the Ardnamurchan distillery—transforming the generosity of donors and the whisky industry into vital water infrastructure.

Partnering with Feedback Madagascar, every pound raised helps build and maintain boreholes and water towers that provide safe drinking water, hygiene training, and sanitation support, improving health outcomes and opportunities for thousands of people. The Foundation’s aim is to deliver clean water for life to those who need it most, with ongoing campaigns striving to reach tens of thousands across Madagascar and beyond.
