Off The Record – series of events for young musicians and those who want to work in the industry

Off The Record is a series of events for young musicians and those who want to work in the industry, and is open to anyone aged 16-25.

Off The Record Edinburgh will feature key figures from the music business taking part in seminars, workshops and advice sessions – all geared to demystifying the industry and providing the basic knowledge to get started.

The next Off The Record will take place at Out of the Blue Drill Hall, Edinburgh on Saturday 2nd July from 10.30am-5.00pm in association with #artcore and the Edinburgh Youth Music Festival.

Programme:
ORGANISING & GETTING GIGS
Find out what promoters look for, how to organise your own gig and how to avoid losing lots of money.

PROMOTING YOUR MUSIC
How to get noticed by radio, press and future fans.
Amy Ferguson (producer, BBC Radio Scotland), Craig Gornall (blogger, Alive and Amplified)

RELEASING MUSIC
Learn how a record label works, and how to release and sell your music.
Martyn Flyn (label director, Lucky Me), EmuBands

WORKING IN MUSIC
A look at the diverse job opportunities in music and how to get your foot in the door.
Chris Beltran (A&R Scout, Atlantic Records & booker, DF Concerts), Stina Tweeddale (musician, Honeyblood)
