New Opportunity for artists and Creative Industries

Hi everyone,

Thursday 17 of September – venue Paisley Town Hall

We have devised a new day for artists – its entirely free and is designed to give professional musicians and practitioners of the music industry information that is invaluable. We are bringing in over 50 speakers ranging from digital publishing experts, to agents and managers. Showcase opportunities are discussed in detail and agents from around the world are attending.
We even have a financial advisor who can help you decipher what you can claim against tax with overseas touring and when you need to be vat registered. There is media training and a whole host more.

This day is FREE and has been devised because we, along with several other music industry organisations felt that in Scotland there is a general lack of agents, managers and industry.
This means that artists have to do a lot themselves. This day is designed to help you do this. It has been produced by Active Events in association with Renfrewshire Council.

Whilst the day is free you need to sign up for spaces through event brite. There is a document attached with links, some of these are small so for example the surgeries with Creative Scotland and PRSF only have space for 10 people a session – this is so you get a real chance to talk to them. So we would urge you to sign up soon if you want to secure a place.

The event is part of an overall festival called Bring It All Home, which has been inspired by Gerry Rafferty, there are masterclasses and concerts on on the 18th and on the 19th a youth music day for younger and newer artists/industries exist.

We thought you might like to know about it.
