Scotland has a new home for harp music with the official opening of the Saltire Harp Centre, founded and run by acclaimed harpist Ailie Robertson and her husband.
Located in the heart of Argyll, the Saltire Harp Centre is more than just a shop — it’s a welcoming destination where harp enthusiasts can try, play, and purchase harps from some of the world’s finest makers. The Centre represents four exceptional artisan brands: Dusty Strings, Pilgrim Harps, Weissgerber Harps, and Marini Harps, offering models ranging from 24 to 37 strings.
The Saltire Harp Centre provides harp sales, rentals, and accessories, as well as Dusty Strings pickups and installation services. Its mission is to make it easier for people across Scotland and beyond to explore and access quality instruments without needing to travel far.
“We wanted to create a space where people could truly experience the harp — to sit down, try different models, and find the one that feels right for them,” says Ailie Robertson. “Scotland has such a rich harp tradition, and we’re thrilled to bring a dedicated space for learners and professionals alike.”
In addition to harp sales, the Centre offers a try-to-buy rental scheme, allowing customers to put rental fees toward the cost of a purchase, making harp ownership more accessible to students and first-time players.
The Saltire Harp Centre is already attracting attention from harpists across the UK, both for its range of instruments and its beautiful location near Loch Etive — making it an ideal destination for a musical day out.
