National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland: 20 Years Young – End of Year Concert

Join us as we celebrate 20 years of the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland on 2nd April at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh. Featuring special guests, Ross Ainslie and Ali Hutton.

We are a charitable project ran by The National Piping Centre creating unique individual development experiences for young pipers and drummers throughout Scotland.

Our End of Year Concert will feature our three National Ensembles, drawing together some of the country’s most talented young Pipers and Drummers, performing a varied programme of concert music, including new work developed by young people to celebrate 20 Years of the NYPBS!

Steven Blake, Director of NYPBS says: “Join us to celebrate our 20th Anniversary, which for us is as much about looking forward to the next 20 as it is about celebrating the programme’s impact over the past 2 decades.

We are excited to share what our three National Bands have been working on, during our first fully in-person year since covid, which includes brand new music created by young people through our Emerging Composers project.

I’ve been so impressed at all of the hard work our participants have put into this performance and amazed at how much brand new music they’ve managed to assemble across a handful of rehearsals!
