BIG NOISE RAPLOCH, STIRLING
£27,818- £30,909 per annum (pro rata)
Are you passionate about music and teaching?
Do you love to inspire and support children and their families?
Do you have extensive experience of group teaching and orchestral playing?
Based on the internationally celebrated Venezuelan El Sistema programme, Sistema Scotland’s vision is to transform lives with music. We began 8 years ago in Raploch, Stirling and since then have opened two other centres in Govanhill, Glasgow and Torry, Aberdeen.
You will work as part of the dynamic team in Big Noise Raploch delivering a visionary, socially driven children’s orchestra centre. You will work with children from pre-school, primary school, secondary school, and adults. Being creative in designing and introducing new ways of learning you will use the orchestra to grow children’s confidence, respect, aspiration, drive and understanding. As part of the team you will develop innovative ways to engage children and families, including home visits and community performances.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you must have experience of working with large and varied groups of children along with a track record of success in giving music instruction to children on your specialist instrument (for the Upper Brass and Lower Strings posts) or in delivering innovative classroom musicianship sessions (for the General Musicianship post).
