Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Photo by Louis DeCarlo at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards

Hi there, We would like to thank you all for continuing to read and sign up for the Hands Up for Trad newsletter! It has been another interesting year and brilliant to start getting back to in person events culminating in our MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards in Dundee’s Caird Hall. I’ll give a special mention to Gary Innes’s Hoolie in the Hydro where over 5000 people attended to watch bands like Mànran, Skerryvore, Trail West and many more!

It’s not looking like an easy 2023 for anyone including the Arts so let’s look out for each other, chat to your neighbours, make sure they’re ok and please support your local venues, clubs, festivals and bands. They will really appreciate it! If you would like to support Hands Up for Trad you can do that here. We would really appreciate that too!

I’ll leave you with a great video from Josie Duncan (one of our Tinto Summer School tutors). Josie is doing a 12 video days of Christmas! You can find more here.
