JUGAAD – debut album from Fat-Suit

fat-suitNew CD/DVD double album released – 01/12/14

Scotland’s 14-piece jazz folk fusion juggernaut Fat-Suit return with the follow up to their Scottish Album of the Year nominated debut ‘Kambr’ with an exciting and vivid 2nd album CD/DVD featuring the
culmination of a year’s worth of writing, touring and planning.
This is “JUGAAD”!

Melding together an irresistible mix of influences from Scottish Trad, Jazz, Indian Classical and many more Fat-Suit continue to display their ongoing musical development with “JUGAAD” a perfect example of why this band continues to wow audiences from Inverness to Budapest.

“a collective sonic surge” – Rob Adams, The Herald

“JUGAAD” is a Hindi term meaning ‘an innovative fix which perhaps bends the rules to achieve its goal’ and this encapsulates the ethos behind the 2nd record from Fat-Suit. Indian member Utsav Lal, upon walking into the studio and seeing 18 musicians and 5 film crew, commented that “JUGAAD” was the only word which could describe this ambitious project. With their ability to straddle varying genres and musical cultures Fat-Suit threw themselves into their European tour and were welcomed all over the continent by some incredible people. Their experience in currently troubled Ukraine was not only sobering but beautifully human. Being one of the only British bands to play in the country this year was an honour for the group and they cannot wait to return.

Plans for the release of “JUGAAD” currently include a live ‘BBC Introducing’ session on BBC Radio Scotland on 03/12/14 as well as an Arts feature article in the Herald the week prior to release. Various pieces of online media with respected music journalists including reviews, interviews and podcasts will also be appearing around 01/12/14.
