International Festival Encounters 2016:
A partnership between the Edinburgh International Festival, the University of Edinburgh and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Are you an ambitious producer, programmer, creative artist and/or performer? Running during the world’s biggest international arts festival in Scotland’s capital, this inspiring course is for all who want to develop their artistic entrepreneurship skills and experience.
Over the five days of the summer school in August, you will immerse yourself in events running as part of the Edinburgh International Festival (EIF), engage and network with inspiring artists, directors and producers, and share and reflect critically on your own and others’ artistic practice.
A highlight of the programme will be a series of encounters with leading figures in the arts, including the Edinburgh International Festival Director, Fergus Linehan.
Every element of the programme is tailored towards enabling you to develop the knowledge and skills required to engage with your practice at a higher level.
Participation includes tickets to key EIF events and moderated discussions of the events attended forms a key activity. There will also be opportunities for participants to present their personal vision in the presence of visiting professionals.
