Hands Up for Trad TV – Findlay Napier Interview: “Outsider” Album & Book

Join us for an in-depth conversation with acclaimed Scottish songwriter Findlay Napier about his innovative new project “Outsider” – released as both an album and an augmented reality coffee table book!

Described as his best work yet, “Outsider” features twelve original songs including collaborations with Boo Hewerdine and culminates in a beautiful old-time waltz co-written with Maz O’Connor. The accompanying 150-page book offers fans four bonus tracks, behind-the-scenes pictures, in-depth notes, and augmented reality content accessible by scanning with a phone or tablet.

In this interview, Findlay discusses his creative process, the folk-rock sound inspired by Richard Thompson, and the journey of creating this ambitious project which was supported by fans and Creative Scotland’s “Crowdfunder” campaign.

About Findlay Napier: A fixture in the UK folk scene since the early 2000s, from his days with Back of the Moon through to The Magpie Arc and his acclaimed solo career, Findlay is widely regarded as one of the finest performers on the UK music scene.
