Gaelictronica 2019 – Ceòl ’s Craic, Glasgow

Ceòl ’s Craic is the social hub and platform for contemporary Gaelic culture in Glasgow

Saturday, 09.03.2019, 7.45pm

CCA, 350 Sauchiehall St. Glasgow

Gaelictronica 2019 features a distinctly Nordic / Scottish crossover.

Hamish Macleod and Josie Duncan play with Glasgow electronica outfit Inyal. Gaelictronica will see them reconvene with Scottish-Icelandic percussionist Signy Jakobsdottir to pursue the Ceòl ’s Craic commissioned project which enables them to explore ambient soundscapes based on looping technology.

Benni Hemm Hemm is the stage name of Benedikt H Hermansson, an Icelandic singer and songwriter. Hanna Tuulikki is an English-Finnish vocalist, musician and artist.

Alistair MacDonald is a composer and performer who’s work encompasses traditional, jazz, classical and contemporary music. Mairi McGillivray is a talented young Gaelic singer strongly influenced by her Islay heritage.

These three diverse acts will show that traditionally inspired music can find valid interpretation in the electronic genre.

Doors Open 7.30pm                                                                        Seated Event
