An Lanntair
The course, which will be led by Calum Martin and Dr Margaret Bennett, will explore the musical and historical application of this important part of our heritage.
Although essentially a vocal tradition performed in Gaelic, lack of fluency in the language should not be considered a barrier to taking part in the course. Tutors will also be happy to accommodate musicians who wish to replicate the sound on their instrument.
As part of the week, there will also be an opportunity for students to attend a Gaelic church service where they will be encouraged to participate, whilst experiencing at first hand the sound of authentic congregational Gaelic psalm singing in its natural environment.
Please note that places are limited on this unique course and we suggest that you book early.
The course will take place from Monday 18th to Sunday 25th July 2016.
The cost to non residential participants is £250 and for residential, £400.
Accommodation will be provided by way of shared self catering on the Isle of Lewis.
A deposit of 25% is required in order to secure your place.
The closing date for registration is Thursday 30th June.
