Luminate, Scotland’s creative ageing festival, takes place nationwide each October and celebrates our creative lives as we age.
The festival brings together older people and those from across the generations to celebrate our creativity as we age, share stories of ageing and explore what growing older means to all of us.
We are now seeking proposals from artists and cultural organisations who would like to create a new artwork in collaboration with older people who are living in a care home or attending a day care centre.
One award of up to £5,000 (inclusive of VAT if applicable) will be made.
Projects must:
• Actively involve older people who are being cared for in a care home or day care setting;
• Result in a new work(s) in any artform or medium, which will be shared as part of this October’s Luminate programme;
• Have identified a partner care setting, and involved them in the design of the project.
Projects may be located anywhere in Scotland.
Who is eligible?
• Individual artists, collaborations of more than one artist, or cultural organisations;
• Artists of any age and at any career stage;
• Artists with experience of collaborating with older people in care settings;
• Artists and cultural organisations based in Scotland.
Details of how to apply are outlined in the commission brief on our website at http://www.luminatescotland.org/resources.
