We asked Juan of Deira a few questions about the band.
Tell us about your band
We are an asturian trio that have a strong bond with Scottish music, specially with the city of Glasgow where we have a huge influence from many musicians on the scene. Our style of music is based on a renewal of traditional music, with contemporary arrangements and atmospheres. We started playing together in 2019, our first is a demo of four tracks mainly with own compositions, recorded online during the locking in 2020. We are currently working on our first album and playing live as much as possible.
Who are the band members
Juan Almaraz – Flutes
Salvador Daza – Fiddle
Gonzalo Llao – Bouzouki
What are you hopes and aspirations for the band?
Release our first album with a good production and have the opportunity to take our music to all possible festivals, especially Celtic Connections, which is very special for us.
