Alyth McCormack Concert In The Cottage

Alyth McCormack, Noel Eccles (percussion) and Niamh O’Brien (harp & vocals) recorded a concert-in-the-cottage.

The concert will be available for streaming on the 8th of October 2021 for nine days.
Starting times: 8pm CEST / 7pm GMT / 2pm EST

Tickets to view are available for purchase via my website: https://alyth.net/shows

Though she has earned acclaim for the matchless way she delivers the Gaelic songs on which she was raised, Alyth is also known for her incredible diversity. Celebrated for her work with The Chieftains, Alyth has shared the stage with folk greats like Martin Carthy and Norma Waterson, jazz singer Leanne Carol, rock great Ry Cooder and country icon Trace Adkins. She also dueted with the legendary Kris Kristofferson and others ranging from Brazilian ensembles to Bulgarian voice choirs. She has toured extensively with her own band too.

“My husband and I don’t frequently work together, voice and percussion might not be the first musical combination you think of, but during lockdown this year, we set about recording a concert-in-the-cottage. It’s been a staggering learning curve. We audio- recorded, filmed, I bought a drone and taught myself how to fly, we kept my Dad fed, and fed ourselves, we edited, we trimmed the lane, mowed the lawn, and played and sang and created a 90 min concert that is going ‘live’ on the 8th of October 2021.”

“No matter what the format,” said New York’s TimeOut, “her voice is spine-tingling.”
