The annual lecture (Sat 9 Nov at midday) which this year will be particularly interesting with Janet Henderson, one of Hamish’s daughters, delivering it (it’s a free event but tickets are needed – go here for tickets https://www.scottishstorytellingcentre.com/event-post/eventid/20870-hamish-henderson-lecture-twelve-poems-from-the-story-of-my-youth/).”

CARRYING STREAM FESTIVAL SONGWRITING WORKSHOP
Saturday 9 November 2pm to 4pm
Scottish Stoytelling Centre, High Street EH1 1SR

This event which follows the lecture is being led by songwriter FINDLAY NAPIER who gave us such a good show earlier this year.

Findlay is an excellent and renowned tutor who founded and now runs the annual Glasgow Songwriting Festival in August.

Click here to secure one of the limited number of 15 places (booking essential).

CARRYING STREAM FESTIVAL SPECIAL CONCERT
Saturday 9 November 8pm to 10:30pm (approx)
Ukrainian Community Centre, 14 Royal Terrace EH7 5AB

This event features FINDLAY NAPIER, BETH MALCOLM and LEWIS McLAUGHLIN so songwriting is well to the fore.

Beth Malcolm won this year’s EFC annual songwriting competition back in the summer and happens to be the daughter of Jim and Susie Malcolm, so a no’ bad pedigree.

Lewis McLaughlin, is a songwriter, musician and son of Frank McLaughlin who is not unknown to EFC. Lewis attended Edinburgh’s Broughton High School’s Music School and then went on to Plockton before going on the road around Scot;land and in Europe. He’s a pretty dab hand with a sound desk as well!
