Graham Mackenzie is a Scottish violinist from Inverness who started playing at age six and has become one of Scotland’s leading traditional musicians. He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, winning major competitions including Highland Young Musician of the Year and reaching the finals of BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award. Graham has performed with top musicians like Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain, and at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall. He’s also a respected teacher whose students have gone on to win competitions and join national orchestras. Rory Matheson, from Assynt, is a BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year finalist who switched from accordion to piano as a teenager. His style blends Highland music with jazz and blues influences, and despite recently graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he has already toured internationally and is a founding member of Glasgow band TRIP.
