Sweet Science by Findlay Napier

Sweet-ScienceThe first single from VIP: Very Interesting Persons album. Each song is a story of someone who has lead a very interesting life.

The term The Sweet Science of Bruising was coined by sportswriter Pierce Egan in his 1813 collection Boxiana; or Sketches of Ancient and Modern Pugilism.

During a press conference weeks before his fight with Jimmy Garcia featherweight champion Gabriel Ruelas “Promised to make someone pay”. Later that day he had a premonition that something would go terribly wrong during the fight.

During their Las Vegas fight Garcia collapsed and sunk into a coma. He died a week later. After Garcia’s death Ruelas swore that every time he got into the ring he saw Jimmy Garcia’s ghost staring at him across the ring.

Former member of multi-award winning Scots trad. band Back of the Moon Findlay Napier is Scotland’s rising singer singer songwriter. Following on in the tradition of Karine Polwart, Dougie MacLean, Rab Noakes and Michael Marra he delivers upbeat musical vignettes on a host of interesting subjects all in his native accent.

His new album VIP: Very Interesting Persons was co-written and produced by Boo Hewerdine is due for release very soon.
