During a press conference weeks before his fight with Jimmy Garcia featherweight champion Gabriel Ruelas “Promised to make someone pay”. Later that day he had a premonition that something would go terribly wrong during the fight.
During their Las Vegas fight Garcia collapsed and sunk into a coma. He died a week later. After Garcia’s death Ruelas swore that every time he got into the ring he saw Jimmy Garcia’s ghost staring at him across the ring.
