Netty’s Tree (Croabh Netty) by Claire Gullan & Friends

Netty’s Tree was the sole tree on the Hebridean Island of Eriskay for many years. It was planted by the poet, Father Allan MacDonald over 100 years ago. Last year, Netty’s Tree won the prestigious title of the Woodland Trust’s “Tree of The Year 2018”. To celebrate, Netty’s Tree the jig was written and recorded by Claire Gullan. Claire is joined by friends Nicky McMichan & Andrew MacPherson on this recording.

Claire is a freelance musician, instrumental tutor, Scottish composer, and artist based in Glasgow, Scotland. She is originally from the North East of Scotland, but has lived in Glasgow since graduating in 2004 from the BA Scottish Music course at the now Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS).
