Ghost Girl by The Poozies

Into-the-Well-front-coverGhost Girl was written by one of The Poozies’ co-founders (and current members), Sally Barker.

It comes from their 2015 album, Into The Well, released on May 25.

The Poozies burst on to the folk scene in 1991 (2016 is their 25th anniversary), turning heads as they crossed Scottish and Gaelic folk with blues, soul, jazz, rock and, in their words “any other enticing genre”.

Co-founders Sally Barker (guitar) and Mary Macmaster (Camac electro-harp) remain, joined by fiddler Eilidh Shaw and Mairearad Green, on accordion. What gives The Poozies their unmistakable, trademark je ne sais quoi, is their sumptuous four-part vocal harmonies.

A quick listen easily illustrates how this act has easily stood the test of time.
